Did you know? We commonly believe that Chardonnay originated in France, in the wine region of Burgundy.
In fact, the first to bring white wine to France were the crusaders who brought with them grape seeds and wine, one of the divine symbols, which was for this reason called "Shaar-adonay". In Hebrew this means "Door of God ", the symbol of the Holy City of Jerusalem. The similarity between the two terms is evident and herein lies the true origin of the name "Chardonnay", which actually derived from Hebrew wine and not from France.
