Technique: Marzemino IGT is produced with Marzemino of Refrontolo grapes. This vine is often dismissed by producers because of its lack of productivity. In La Guarda, this clone has been tested and experimented over the last 20 years to increase its quantity without changing its qualities and peculiarities such as its particularly plain ripening, intense red colour, 13% alcohol rate, slightly herbal taste and good sapidity conferred by the sandy composition of the soil. Garda Marzemino is aged in oak barrels for 24 months before being bottled. Then this wine can be preserved for at least 8/9 years more to better express its character.
